Terms and conditions

These terms apply to the use of Familiepagina. They are kept short and in plain language, because terms nobody reads protect nobody.

Who you are contracting with

What Familiepagina is

A private place for one family: posts, photos, films, stories, a calendar, discussions, an addressbook and a vault for documents. There is no public part. You get in only through an e-mail invitation from an admin of that family, and the same admin can take that access away again.

Your account

• You create an account on your own e-mail address, and you are its only user.
• There are no passwords: you sign in with a link in your mail. So whoever can reach your mailbox can reach your account — keep it yours.
• You can create your own account from the age of sixteen, or younger with a parent's consent.
• You can close your account at any time.

What you post stays yours

We claim no ownership of your photos, films or writing. You only give us the right to store, display and transmit them as far as delivering the service to the people in your family requires — nothing beyond that.

You are responsible for what you post. Do not put up what is not yours to share, and bear in mind that a photo is also about the other people in it.

What is not allowed

• Posting anything unlawful, or anything that infringes someone else's rights.
• Using a family as something other than a family — as a public platform, a company workspace or a storage service.
• Harassing, threatening or intimidating others.
• Trying to circumvent the security, or scraping or overloading the service.

If it happens anyway we can act: from removing something to closing an account. For anything serious that can be immediate; otherwise we tell you first and give you the chance to put it right.

What it costs

• The first three months cost nothing. We ask for no payment details up front and nothing is charged without you saying yes to it.
• After that you choose a plan. Which ones there are and what they cost is on the pricing section; all amounts are per family and include VAT.
• If you choose nothing, the family goes read-only. Everything stays readable and searchable — you just cannot add anything new. Nothing is thrown away and nothing is charged.
• While we cannot yet invoice, use is free of charge. If that changes, you will hear well in advance.

Cancelling and refunds

• A monthly plan runs until you cancel it. You can do that at any time, and it takes effect at the end of the period already paid for.
• After the first year a yearly plan carries on automatically at the same rate, but billed monthly — so from then on you can leave monthly too, and never end up quietly locked into a second full year. We tell you well before that date that it is coming.
• Cancel within fourteen days of subscribing and you get the full amount back, no questions asked.

A family nobody comes back to

If a family goes twelve months with no subscription and nobody signing in, we delete it. If it was ever paid for, that period is twenty-four months. We warn you by mail first, more than once, so you can still ask us for your data before anything goes. Deletion after that is real deletion, files included.

Availability

We do our best to keep Familiepagina running, but we promise no uninterrupted availability. We announce maintenance where we can. If we ever discontinued the service you would hear well in advance.

Liability

We are not liable for what members of a family post to each other; that is between them. Otherwise our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the preceding twelve months. That does not mean we take losing your data lightly — but keep your own copy of anything you truly cannot lose. That holds for every service, this one included.

Changes to these terms

If we change anything material, we say so by mail before it takes effect. If you disagree, you can cancel.

Governing law

Dutch law applies to these terms. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands. As a consumer you also keep every right the law gives you regardless; nothing in these terms takes any of that away.
